Meet the Makers 

Cutwright Custom Laser started in October 2025 when my husband, Shawn, and I decided to jump into something new, get creative, and see where it took us. So far? We’re having a whole lot of fun.

We make a pretty good team—mostly because our talents are very different.

Shawn is the “I can build/fix/figure out just about anything” half of Cutwright. Give him a problem in the shop and somehow he’ll find a way to make it work. He’s the one I turn to when something requires tools, engineering, mechanical knowledge...or basically anything that makes me stare at it and say, “Shawn?”

Then there’s me. Before Cutwright, my power-tool experience pretty much began and ended with a screwgun. Mechanical things and I are still getting acquainted, and I’m fairly certain I was born with two left hands when it comes to that department.

But give me a design idea, our laser, and a can of paint? Now we’re talking.

I love taking an idea and figuring out how to turn it into something real. I handle much of the designing and laser work, I've become surprisingly handy with a paint can, and I'm constantly learning something new along the way.

And our laser? She’s a complete boss! We continue to discover just how much she can do, which means we're always excited to try something new.

That's probably our favorite part of Cutwright. We love a challenge. We love hearing “Do you think you could make this?” And we especially love watching an idea go from a conversation to a finished piece someone is excited to take home.

This business is a new chapter for us, and we can't wait to see where it takes us.
